2017 Gairdner Lecture presents Dr. Frank Plummer

The 2017 Gairdner Lecture presents Dr. Frank Plummer, Distinguished Professor, Medical Microbiology, College of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, discussing Untold Stories of the National Microbiology Laboratory

Special Advisor to the Chief Public Health Officer, Public Health Agency of Canada, Plummer is also the recipient of the 2016 Canada Gairdner Wightman Award for his groundbreaking research understanding HIV transmission and his leadership at the Canadian National Microbiology Laboratory with pivotal roles in SARS, influenza and Ebola epidemics.

Librarian in Residence Workshops for Grad Students and Faculty

As part of a new partnership between OVC and the library, the college will be participating in a “Librarian in Residence” project, whereby a librarian will be available onsite in the OVC Main Building to assist with library-related queries.

In addition, three workshops will be held at OVC during the fall semester on Oct. 26, Nov. 2 and Nov. 9

The Research and Scholarship Librarian works with grad students and faculty in OVC to assist with advanced aspects of the research life cycle, providing support in a number of areas.
