The Class of 2016 has been very busy over the past few weeks with many Christmas events! This year the Caracals have chosen to support two very deserving charities for the 2014-2015 school year: Grand River All Breeds Rescue, a non-profit animal rescue group and Windreach Farms, which is designed to meet the needs of individuals with a variety of disabilities.
This year the popular Pet Photos with Santaraised approximately $700 for the charities. And thanks to Adam Kleinberg, photographer, and Nikki Dobben, event organizer, all photos have been sent out in time for the holiday season.
The Annual Elf Auction, held on December 2nd in the OVC Cafeteria and Emceed by the ever-enthusiastic Dr. Peregrine, raised over $5200 - a record breaking year according to event organizers - half of which will be donated to the charities mentioned above.
"Fifty percent of the funds raised will go to two organizations that mean a lot to our class" explains event co-organizer Phil Levis. "The 2016 Caracals would like to thank the OVC community for helping us raise so much to support these causes - both our professors for donating amazing experiences and students who bid on these items".

This holiday season the Caracals took part in the Adopt-a-Family program of Guelph and Wellington county. Through class funds and donations, toys, clothing items and a grocery gift card were purchased for our matched family - helping to make a difference in the lives of these kids on Christmas morning!
Have a great holiday season, OVC!
