OVC Pet Trust has launched a new book entitled Live-Love! Famous Canadians and the pets they love. The book is the brainchild of Waterloo-based writer, Nancy Silcox.
Silcox has been working on the project since 2012, when she initially pitched the idea to the OVC Pet Trust team and the dean of the Ontario Veterinary College.

“It was a labour of love for me to write Canada’s first-ever book featuring the beloved pets of these celebrities,” said Silcox in a University of Guelph news release.
“Readers will get an unparalleled peek into the lives and loves of Canadian celebrities and the pets with whom they share their lives.”
The book features pet stories from 30 Canadian notables, including Chris Hadfield, Don Cherry, Bob Rae, Jann Arden, Margaret Atwood, Rick Hansen, Brian Williams, Valerie Pringle and many more.
This is the fourth book self-published by the Ontario Veterinary College, three of which are focused on the bond or relationship between people and animals.
“We see the important role pets play in the passion of those who contributed stories.” says OVC dean Stone. “The funds raised will lead to important advancements in the care of animals.”
Live-Love! Famous Canadians and the pets they love was officially launched at Purina PawsWay in downtown Toronto on November 6th. Photos from the event can be found on the OVC Pet Trust Facebook page.
The book will be available on Amazon or by special order through your local bookstore as of this November.
