Following a community review, Dr. Kerry Lissemore has been re-appointed Associate Dean, Academic.
OVC Dean Elizabeth Stone expressed her appreciation to everyone for their thoughtful feedback on Lissemore’s first term.
The comments were uniformly complimentary about his ability to be visionary in moving the DVM curriculum forward.
“Kerry’s leadership in driving the curriculum review speaks to this ability,” Stone said. “He has played a vital role in other areas including as our liaison with OMAFRA, building of the Large Animal Clinical Skills facility and looking for ways to optimize teaching while being conscious of limited resources. He has had to make difficult decisions, but the respondents felt he always makes decisions that reflect the overall good of the College and University.”
She said Lissemore has consistently sought ways to improve faculty opportunities for growth in teaching and pedagogy, including implementing the Community of Teachers. In addition, he has worked hard to forge good relationships with faculty while providing as many opportunities as possible for professional development.
Lissemore will start his five-year re-appointment after returning from administrative leave in September, 2013.
