The University of Guelph Alumni Association (UGAA) will honour Dr. Roger Thomson OVC ’75 for his outstanding contributions to the community.

Thomson, the former treasurer of the OVC Alumni Association, will receive the Alumni Volunteer Award at the UGAA Awards of Excellence Ceremony on March 25. The award honours alumni who have demonstrated loyalty and commitment to their alma mater by supporting the U of G through their volunteer work.
Thomson served on the OVC AA board for many years and is one of the organizers of the Global Development Symposium. He is also a member of the board of directors for Veterinarians Without Borders-Canada and spearheaded poultry initiatives and school programs in Tanzania that have had lasting impact on reducing poverty on those communities.
