An OVC student with a reputation for selfless leadership and enthusiastic volunteer spirit will be honoured next week.
Evan Bell OVC 2015 will receive the André Auger Citizenship Award at the Student Life Recognition banquet on March 20 at the Delta Hotel and Conference Centre.
The award was established in 2000 to honour André Auger, who served as Director of the Counselling & Student Resource Centre from 1973-2000. It is presented each year to an undergraduate or graduate student who has consistently demonstrated a sense of personal responsibility and commitment toward community that is worthy of notice.
“Evan is a bright, discerning, highly collegial individual who is clearly gifted with leadership skills,” said Dr. Andrew Peregrine, Pathobiology, who put forward the nomination. “He always makes time to listen to others and has an unusual ability to work collectively with faculty, staff and students.”
Evan has an outstanding record of volunteer service and leadership, including as a class co-president, involvement in the OVC Community Outreach Program, College Royal, the OVC Coffeehouse, OVC Elf Auction, youth volleyball coach, and much more.
