Two OVC specialists are working with a Canadian veterinary diagnostic company to deliver a new equine ultrasound course to practitioners.
Drs. Heather Chalmers and Judith Koenig will be the instructors for “Ultrasonography and therapy of equine metacarpal/metatarsal tendons,” a continuing education course offered by scil Vet Novations.
The course will take place March 1 at OVC.
Koenig and Chalmers will discuss imaging and therapy of tendon and ligament injuries through a combination of lectures and wet labs. Drawing on information from interesting cases at OVC, they’ll discuss the interplay between lameness examination, diagnostic imaging tests, treatment and monitoring.
The course includes a four-hour wet lab that will provide participants with hands-on experience scanning tendons and practicing ultrasound-guided injections.
