A member of OVC’s Class of 2015 earned kudos for her research poster at last week’s American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) national meeting in Baltimore, Md.
Dana Lemoine won second place in the clinical category for her poster titled “Autoclaving Exam Gloves as an Alternative to Using Surgeon’s Gloves for Rodent Survival Surgeries.”
The poster was based on a research project that Lemoine worked on during a summer fellowship at Ohio State University.
Lemoine, who is co-president of the Laboratory Animal Science Club at OVC, found that steam sterilization of nitrile exam gloves is a viable, cost-effective alternative to the use of sterile surgical gloves for rodent survival surgeries.
