Join WSAVA for two amazing days of CE on veterinary anesthesia, pain management and forensics

July 20: Dr. Sheilah Robertson: ANESTHESIA AND PAIN MANAGEMENT. Dr. Robertson is a distinguished veterinarian who has pursued a specialization in veterinary anesthesia, pain management, animal welfare, and shelter medicine. She has worked at several university referral centres and was assistant director in the animal welfare division of the AVMA. She has served on the ASV Spay-Neuter Task Force, the AAFP welfare committee and the Feine Nursing Guidelines Committee, as well as the Feline Anesthesia Guidelines Task Force. She co-authored the 2015 AAFP/AAHA Pain Management Guidelines for Dogs and Cats. She is currently Senior Medical Director of Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice.

July 21: Dr. Melinda Merck: VETERINARY FORENSICS. Dr. Merck is one of the world’s leading veterinary forensics experts and is editor and contributing author for the textbook, “Veterinary Forensics: Animal Cruelty Investigation”. She serves on the WSAVA Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee and the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys’ Animal Cruelty Advisory Committee. She has served as Board President for the NAVC and is founding Board chair of the International Veterinary Forensic Sciences Association. She is the owner of Veterinary Forensics Consulting in Austin, Texas and volunteers for SAFE, the Austin shelter for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. For Ontario veterinary and shelter staff, the day is a perfectly-timed opportunity to learn more about forensics, following the Ontario SPCA’s decision to stop carrying out cruelty investigations.
