OVC faculty, staff and students are invited to the next Animal Behaviour and Welfare seminar/webinar presented by the Campbell Centre for the Study of Animal Welfare.
Dr. Hanno Wuerbel
Dr. Hanno Wuerbel of the Univesity of Bern will discuss “Refinement of housing conditions and experimental design in lab rodent research.”
The talk takes place Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 1713 of the OVC Lifetime Learning Centre.

Wuerbel is a professor of animal welfare at the University of Bern in Switzerland. His research focuses on environment-dependent plasticity of brain and behaviour with regards to questions of animal welfare and the scientific validity of animal research.
His research has regularly been published in leading scientific journals, including Nature, Nature Methods and Trends in Neuroscience.
The Animal Behaviour and Welfare Series continues Nov. 21 with Prof. Elsa Vasseur of the University of Guelph’s Campus d’Alfred discussing “On-farm evaluation of heifer and cow welfare.”
