Competition Winter 2019
OVC Pet Trust provides funds for research that advances the health and quality of life of companion animals. Approximately $215,000 is available to be allocated in this competition. The equipment competition will also be open with $20,000 available. In addition, there is a new allocation of $95,000 available for the Winter 2019 competition for research specifically concerning the health and welfare of cats. - *NEW*Cancer Therapeutics Innovation Pipeline Call for Letters of Intent
The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) established the Cancer Therapeutics Innovation Pipeline (CTIP) strategic initiative to capitalize on Ontario’s expertise in cancer biology and drug discovery. To stimulate collaborative research with the Ontario cancer research community in the area of cancer therapeutics discovery, OICR invites applications for early stage drug discovery. Research Foundation 2019 Discovery Award competition is now open with one-year grants of up
to $25,000 for health and biomedical research projects by outstanding new
investigators who are within the first three years of their first academic
appointment.

- Brock Doctoral Scholarship The Brock Doctoral Scholarship, one of the most prestigious
doctoral awards available at the University of Guelph, is available for outstanding Doctoral applicants who will be starting
their programs in S19, F19 or W20. The scholarship has also increased in
value to $37,500 per year (up to 4 years).

The Summer Program In Laboratory Animal Medicine - 12-week summer fellowship provides mentored experiences in laboratory animal medicine and research. Deadline for applications is Friday, February 1, 2019.
The Summer Fellowship Program in Diagnostic Pathology - 8 to 12-week summer program is available to veterinary students in their 3rd or 4th years. Deadline for applications is Friday, February 1, 2019 - CEEZAD BSL-3 Training/Transboundary Animal Disease Summer Program now accepting applications. The two-week program is designed to introduce graduate, DVM and
upper-level undergraduate students to high-containment training and to provide
current practical and scientific information on select high consequence
transboundary and zoonotic diseases. All applications must be submitted to ceezad@ksu.edu by Monday,

Veterinary Scholar Graduate Research Award
This award is open to graduate veterinarians who will soon complete or have recently completed a PhD program in the biomedical sciences, or who are in the final 1 to 2 years of residency training in the field of veterinary pathology, medicine, surgery, radiology/imaging, or laboratory animal medicine. The Prairie Swine Centre has an opening for graduate studies in swine ethology (behaviour) at the PhD. level. This project will explore the effects of transportation on weaned piglets.
