- *NEW* Equine Guelph Research
Competition Announcement: Winter 2019
Equine Guelph Research Competition, for one or two year projects beginning in 2019. Proposal submission is in two stages with a Letter of Intent (LOI) and a Full-Proposal stage. The LOI is to facilitate peer-reviewer recruitment only and everyone who submits a LOI is eligible for submitting a full proposal.
Deadline for the LOI: Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at 8 am.
Deadline for the full proposal: Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 8 am.

- The Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance’s Knowledge Translation and Transfer (KTT) Funding Program is accepting Full Proposals in two funding streams
- KTT Research Funding: supports research projects that advance the science of knowledge translation and transfer in agri-food and rural sectors.
- KTT Mobilization Funding: supports outreach and/or engagement activities that enhance the dissemination, uptake and/or use of existing research to benefit Ontario’s agri-food sector and rural communities.

Research Award
This award is open to graduate veterinarians who will soon complete or have recently completed a PhD program in the biomedical sciences, or who are in the final 1 to 2 years of residency training in the field of veterinary pathology, medicine, surgery, radiology/imaging, or laboratory animal medicine.

Assistantship – Ethology
The Prairie Swine Centre has an opening for graduate studies in swine ethology (behaviour) at the PhD. level. This project will explore the effects of transportation on weaned piglets. Successful applicants will have a DVM or MSc degree in animal science or a related discipline. Students will be enrolled in the College of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Saskatchewan, or alternatively may conduct studies at the University of Guelph with supervision by faculty in the Department of Animal Biosciences or the Ontario Veterinary College. The successful applicant will have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to lead data collection and contribute effectively as a member of the research team. Competitive financial assistance is available in the form of a stipend (Graduate Research Assistantship). project proposal, and submissions must be made online by the academic
