The OVC will welcome the Class of 2017 at the Professional Welcome Ceremony on Sept. 21. These students will go on to become the 152nd class graduating from a learning community with a history that dates back to 1862.
To mark the event, the OVC Alumni Association is asking graduates to pen a few “words of advice” that will be passed along to the first-year class.
On receipt of their own lab coat at the ceremony, the students will find in one of the pockets a unique, hand-written note from an OVC alumnus or alumna on how to fully embrace life at OVC and the veterinary profession.
The goal is to give each student at the professional welcome ceremony a unique comment that offers some perspective based on experiences at OVC and out in the “real world.”
To accomplish this enormous task of delivering more than a hundred unique messages, the OVC Alumni Association needs your assistance.
If you are a proud DVM graduate from the OVC and would like to share a tip or two with an eager first-year veterinary student, please contact OVC alumni advancement manager Stefanie Sharp at ssettacc@uoguelph.ca for additional information.
It’s a great opportunity to connect alumni with the current generation of students, and to nurture that connection with the College for years to come.
