An OVC graduate whose commitment and dedication to clients was well recognized throughout many years of practice has died.

Dr. Murrel Bauman OVC ’61 died June 14 at the age of 84.  Bauman served the Elmira community for 48 years as a highly respected large animal veterinarian. He founded Eldale Veterinary Clinic as a one-man practice that grew to include 10 veterinarians and served generations of farm families.

In 2009, he was the inaugural recipient of the Veterinary Service Award from the Ontario Association of Bovine Practitioners (OABP). In his memory, the OABP will make a contribution to the Bovine Education Trust.
