After several months of review and discussion of the OVC clinical program, we have concluded that the Clinical Program needs dedicated leadership at the level of an associate dean. Thus, we are beginning the search process for an Associate Dean, Clinical Program (ADCP).

This position will report to the Dean and represent and advocate for the Clinical Program within the Dean’s Council and the University and to our external stakeholders (e.g., referring veterinarians, donors, industry, alumni).  The successful candidate will work closely with the Associate Dean, Academic to ensure that learning outcomes are achieved within the Clinical Program, with the Associate Dean, Students to optimize the student experience within the Clinical Program, and with the Associate Dean, Research and Innovation to facilitate clinically-based research.

The ADCP will consult and engage with faculty, Veterinarians, staff and students to ensure that the Clinical Program contributes to and benefits from the overall OVC Integrated Plan.  With the assistance of the clinic heads and the Hospital Advisory Committee, the ADCP will assume the responsibilities of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and that position would be eliminated.  The ADCP will supervise and mentor the Veterinarians and the HSC management team and be responsible for the success and fiscal viability of the OVC HSC.

We will be forming a search committee soon.
