Congratulations to graduate students Mei-Hua Hwang, Pathobiology, and Pauline Zhang, Pathobiology, for their presentations last week in OVC’s 3MT® heat.

Hwang and Zhang will represent OVC at the UofG 3MT® competition on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in, UC442 in the University Centre.

Mei-Hua Hwang, Pathobiology, on the left, and Pauline Zhang, Pathobiology, on the right, will represent OVC at the UofG 3MT® competition on March 28.

Mei-Hua Hwang, Pathobiology, outlined her research into “Improving the molecular test for lymphoma in dogs.”

Pauline Zhang, Pathobiology, discussed her work focusing on “What’s in my dog’s poop? Finding antibiotic resistant bacteria.”

3MT® is a university wide competition for graduate students in which participants present their research and its wider impact in 3 minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges. The challenge is to present complex research in an engaging, accessible and compelling way, using only one slide.

3MT® is not an exercise in trivializing or ‘dumbing-down’ research but forces students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries to become transferable after graduation.
