This week’s post is quite concise as I attend some external networking opportunities in the larger veterinary community.
Last week I had an opportunity to connect with veterinary colleagues from across the U.S. and Canada at the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) Dean’s meeting. AAVMC included a number of informative sessions on topics such as accreditation, how the concept of design thinking can inform how we teach and lead in our colleges, and leadership development within our colleges.
This week I look forward to meeting some of our alumni at the OVC Alumni Association reception on Tuesday evening at the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) Conference. As you may know, this annual conference offers extensive continuing education sessions and respected international speakers along with an extensive veterinary exhibitor area.
Conferences and meetings such as these not only provide an occasion to meet with our alumni, as well as colleagues from other veterinary colleges and associated industries. They keep up connected in another way, by fostering continued collaboration which is key to finding success in all aspects of veterinary education and medicine.
I’m looking forward to the week ahead and look forward to connecting with all of you again next week.
