“During our bandaging lab for our Principles of Surgery class, we were able to practice different bandaging techniques. We used both plush animal leg models and our classmates’ arms. Shauna applied a fibreglass cast to my arm, which can be used for certain types of fractures in small animals. It is important that the cast is long enough to immobilize the joints that are above and below the real fracture. To remove the cast we used an oscillating saw. The blade moves back and forth instead of spinning, so there is less chance of an accidental injury to the skin, but it was still slightly scary! Shauna did a wonderful job with the saw and I came out unscathed.. ” thanks for sharing Kadi and Shauna! #Repost@ktnwhite@8shaunas“I trust this girl 👩🏼‍⚕️😻#OVC2019 #fibreglasscast
