As many of you will know, Guelph is hosting the 2016 Special Olympics from May 26 to 28. There is a fundraising component of the games, including an opportunity to sponsor an athlete for $500. Judy Metherel, in the HSC Business Office, is hoping the OVC community would like to get involved and is looking for 25 people to donate $20 towards sponsorship of an athlete. Change someone’s life today! For a donation of $500 you can “Adopt-An-Athlete” and help offset expenses related to transportation, meals and accommodations while attending the Games.
A Special Olympics athlete who has trained hard, competed and qualified to participate in the Special Olympics Ontario Provincial Spring Games needs your support. This event takes place in Guelph from May 26th to 28th, 2016 and features Swimming, 5-Pin Bowling, 10-Pin Bowling, Powerlifting, Basketball and Rhythmic Gymnastics.
Donations can be dropped off to the Business Office, Room 1450 or if you prefer, Judy has created a page on the Special Olympics site so donations can be made on line using the following link (you may need to copy and paste this into a new window)
Donations are requested by April 22 in order to meet the May 1 deadline for sponsorship!
