OVC Instagram Posts of the Week

Each week we will be highlighting three posts to share what’s new on Instagram for those that do not have an account. Thank you to everyone who has shared with us so far.

“Second year vet student Sophie practices her medicine techniques in the clinical skills lab. “In the lab we had hands-on experience taking blood from the coccygeal vein of a cow and learned how to give intramuscular and subcutaneous injections for the purpose of administering medication or vaccines. Having never worked with Cows before I came to OVC, it’s always an interesting experience interacting with these gentle animals. These labs are a great opportunity to develop our physical examination techniques and prepare for our upcoming clinical skills final.” #ovc2018

“Want to join in a WORLDWIDE 🐶DOG JOG for a good cause?  On March 13, 2016 the 6th OTS Dog Jog will take place.  This annual event is organized by vet students to support OVC Pet Trust. This year, OVC is launching Team: Tails and Trails - a community based team that consists of staff, grad students and faculty members , colleagues, alumni, supporters, family members as well as Virtual team members that are our friends on Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and Facebook. Our goal is to get 100 people (locally and from around the world) to join the team in order to raise funds, social awareness and spread the word as wide as we can.

About Pet Trust: OVC Pet Trust is the charitable fund at the University of Guelph that supports healthcare, research, training and innovation to advance companion animal health and help pets live longer, healthier lives.  Over the past 30 years OVC Pet Trust has raised over $35 Million dollars and $7.5 Million of those funds have gone towards research at the Ontario Veterinary College to advance options in pain management, diagnose and treatments of diseases such as cancer and heart disease .
