Tuesday, November 10th
12:30pm - (Rm 1713) Equine Club: Equine Ultrasound Lunch Talk
Dr. Nykamp will present an introduction to equine ultrasonography, terminology and applications to equine medicine. This talk is open to all phases and is encouraged for students who would like to attend the lab.
5:30pm - 10pm - (Rm 1707 B & C) Integrative Medicine & Alternatives Club: Annual Practitioners Forum
Students who purchased tickets will be able to network and learn more about this emerging field of veterinary medicine from clinicians who practice integrative medicine.

12:30pm - (Rm 1714) Wellness Wednesday: Studying Smarter for the DVM program with Jason Dodd
Jason Dodd is a science learning specialist & co-ordinator at the UofG, and he will give a talk on studying for the DVM program. Pizza and drinks will be served! Sponsored by the Dean’s office, Zoetis, and OVC Peer Helpers.
Thursday, November 12th
12:30pm - (Rm 1714) Community Outreach Club: Rural Area Veterinary Services summer experiences
Students who participated in RAVS trips will talk about their experiences and will also present the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, and how to get involved. Timbits will be served!
12:30pm - (Rm 1800) The Parasitology Club and The ZEW club: Unraveling the mysterious marine ecology of Toxoplasma gondii
Dr. Karen Shapiro (OVC, UC Davis) will be presenting her research linking feral cats to an increase in sea otter deaths in California, due to an unexpected parasite, including all the exciting discoveries along the way. Coffee and cookies will be served!
Friday, November 13th
12:30pm - (Rm 1714) The OVC SCLGVMA Club: Minimizing Zoonotic risk in immunodeficient pet owners
Dr. Jason Brophy, pediatric infectious disease specialist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, will discuss proper management of zoonotic infectious diseases in pets with immunodeficient owners (AIDS, chemotherapy, genetic diseases, etc.) to maximize the health of the animal patients and their owners. Pizza and drinks will be provided by Bayer Animal Health.
