Every day each of us are presented with opportunities and challenges in our workplace that must be met decisively, and we need a strategic context within which to make the best decisions we can. For this reason we should welcome the U of G Strategic Renewal Project (#ChartOurPath), which will require us to consider our future as members of the OVC and U of G communities.
This initiative is timely as we enter the final third of the period covered by the OVC Integrated Plan (2012-17). As a new Dean, I need us to develop and communicate a clear College vision and strategy for the next five years, and to ensure it reinforces the U of G vision that emerges as a result of the Strategic Renewal process. Over the next year there will be many opportunities for each of us to contribute to these discussions, as part of the Strategic Renewal Project and as part of our own renewal of the OVC Integrated Planning initiatives that will be informed and guided by the project. I ask you to embrace these opportunities and allow your voice to be heard.
The OVC members of Senate have been asked to engage the OVC community during the early stages of this process and will do so over the next two weeks.
