The Ontario Veterinary College Alumni Association is hosting its second Alumni Continuing Education Symposium on Sunday, October 25 in OVC’s Lifetime Learning Centre.
Two lecture streams will be offered: small animal lectures and specialties for the non-specialist. Attendees can choose lectures from both streams as schedules allow.
Small animal lectures will feature:
- Emergence of Lyme disease in dogs and people in Canada, presented by Dr. Andrew Peregrine
- Communicating the Value of Veterinary Care to Patients, presented by Dr. Colleen Best
- Confidently assessing alternative diets: A strategic approach, presented by Dr. Jackie Parr
- Medical Management of Feline Hyperthyroidism, presented by Dr. Maureen Barry
Specialties for the Non-specialist lectures will feature:
- Saving a sick sheep isn’t as important as preventing the next one, presented by Dr. Paula Menzies
- Pet pigs in practice, presented by Dr. Terri O’Sullivan
- Review of common radiographic lesions in birds, presented by Dr. Hugues Beaufrère
- Review of rabbit and rodent dentistry, presented by Dr. Hugues Beaufrère
This full-day CE event will serve as a great opportunity for students and alumni to learn valuable information on relevant veterinary topics. Participants will also receive six hours of CE credit.
In addition to the lectures, registration includes a light breakfast, hot buffet lunch, snacks and coffee throughout the day. The day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
